About me and this project...
Inside & Out of My Mind started out as a project supported by the organisation Fixers, but after the book I wanted to give everyone an opportunity to share their stories.
I realised that the only way the end the stigma and ignorance is by talking, so if I can give mental illness, my mental illness a voice, then we can help other to understand, because if we all stayed quiet, how would we learn anything?
I have lived experience of mental illness; I now work voluntarily to advocate for children and young people within various organisations.
Art has really helped me which is why I really wanted to promote the use of creativity for sharing individual's stories, as well as how being creative can benefit mental well-being.
I would like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who have contributed their work and stories so far.
