Scarred
My scars are the seams
That hold me together
Pieces of me like a patchwork quilt
Telling a story, my story.
Sometimes I fall apart
And a new seam has to be made
But it’s what keeps me together
It’s what keeps me alive.
Each seam has a story
My story
Of strength and courage
And of falling apart.
So think what you want
I do not care
These scars are what make me
They make me who I am.
These scars remind me
Of each time I’ve hurt
But they also remind me
That I survived.
